Ingredients

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened

  • 1 cup granulated sugar

  • ¾ cup brown sugar (packed)

  • 2 large eggs (room temp)

  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

  • 1¾ cups all-purpose flour

  • ¾ cup unsweetened cocoa powder

  • 1 teaspoon baking soda

  • ½ teaspoon baking powder

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 1½ cups semi-sweet or dark chocolate chunks

  • ½ cup mini chocolate chips (optional, for extra richness)

  • Flaky sea salt (optional, for topping)

Instructions

1. Prep the base2. Add the wet ingredients

Mix in eggs one at a time, then add vanilla. Beat until smooth and glossy.

3. Combine the dry ingredients

In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.

4. Mix it all together

Gradually mix dry ingredients into the wet ingredients just until combined. Do not overmix. Fold in chocolate chunks and mini chips.

5. Chill the dough and preheat the oven

Cover dough and chill for 30–60 minutes. This deepens the chocolate flavor and prevents spreading. Preheat the oven to 350°F while chilling.

6. Bake and enjoy!

Scoop 2-tablespoon-sized balls onto a lined baking sheet and bake for 9–11 minutes, until edges are set but centers still look slightly soft. Sprinkle with flaky sea salt immediately after baking (optional). Let cool on pan for 5 minutes before transferring, then enjoy.
