Classic Club Sandwich

Ingredients

  • 3 slices white or sourdough bread
  • 2 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 4 slices cooked bacon
  • 4 oz sliced roasted turkey breast
  • 2 oz sliced deli ham
  • 2 slices cheddar or Swiss cheese (optional)
  • 2 leaves crisp romaine or iceberg lettuce
  • 2 slices ripe tomato
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • Toothpicks, for securing

Instructions

1. Toast the Bread

Toast all three slices of bread until golden brown and lightly crisp, then let them cool slightly before assembling.

2. Spread the Mayo

Evenly spread mayonnaise on one side of each slice of toast for a creamy, flavorful base.

3. Build the First Layer

Place one slice of toast on a cutting board, mayonnaise side up. Layer with lettuce, tomato, a pinch of salt and pepper, turkey, and one slice of cheese if using.

4. Add the Middle Slice

Place the second slice of toast on top, mayonnaise side down. Spread mayonnaise on the top side, then layer with ham, crispy bacon, and the remaining cheese if desired.

5. Finish the Sandwich

Top with the final slice of toast, mayonnaise side down, gently pressing everything together to keep the layers secure.

6. Slice and Serve

Insert four toothpicks into the sandwich, one near each corner. Cut diagonally into four triangles and serve immediately with pickle spears and your favorite chips or fries.
